John and Judy
Young have been missionaries for 26 years. Most of that time has been spent in Africa,
serving in eight different countries.Seven years were spent as stateprison chaplains , serving in AR, NC, and VA prisons.John served as director of “TAN” –
(Transition Aftercare Network), a ministry for inmates transitioning into the
free world for two years in Raleigh,
N.C.
Ministry in Africa has focused on training National pastors through
Bible school ministry and outreach by Bible school students.Through the years John’s ministry has
included serving as principal of NorthernNigeiaBibleCollege, where he taught
classes and took students into remote villages to train them in evangelism and
church planting.In recent years John’s
ministry has focused on the physical building of Bible schools and village extention centers to train pastors who could
not afford to come into the city for training.
John and Judy have
both been active in “village ministry” on the weekends, each teaching and
preaching.While John was building Bible
schools, Judy has been teaching classes in those schools. They see the greatest need in the African
church today as “training nationals to reach their own people”.The African church is strong and with the
proper training they can reach their own continent with the GOOD NEWS OF JESUS
CHRIST -the message that brings HOPE,
which is most needed in Africa and around the
world.
Anderson 1st is blessed and
fortunate to have John and Judy as a part of our church family. Please keep them in your prayers this month
as they are our missionaries of the month for January.
