Community Food Bank - anderson 1 st has joined together with several other community churches and organizations to create a community food bank to provide assistance to those who need groceries. The food bank currently contains over 17 tons of food, and under the leadership of Director Carolyn Smith has ministered to many families and individuals in need.
Clothes from the King - It is the desire of anderson 1 st to see those in need provided for. Every 2-3 months free clothing is given away at a large outreach call “Clothes from the King.” Several tractor trailer loads have been given away to date, and many more are to come.
Experience Freedom - On Sunday nights at anderson 1st, people with many different types of life-controlling problems gather to support each other, and to find deliverance in God and the study of His word. Experience Freedom is open to anyone who may be facing: Alcohol or drug addiction, grief, depression, fear, anger, anxiety, or any other emotional or physical problem that stands in the way of everyday living. Sunday nights @ 6pm
The Freedom House - A transitional home for men who have been set-free from life-controlling problems. This home provides men coming out of programs such as the Haven of Rest with the “next step” in their journey to complete independence from alcohol and drug addiction.
Light the Night - Is a Christian alternative to Halloween. Games, fun, and candy are provided for children of all ages in a safe and controlled environment. Even on the darkest night of the year light can shine through! Click HERE for a few pictures
Easter Eggstravaganza - A community celebration of Easter. Several community churches come together in an effort to reach out to the community by providing a day of fun and eggs, lots and lots of eggs. Each year tens of thousands of eggs filled with candy are scooped up by children from all over the community. There is also live music, a blow up carnival, games, and prizes!
